Marianne Moore - Yoga classes at New Body Barn, Devizes
I am a certified Yoga Alliance instructor and practitioner with 200 hours of RYT Training from the renowned Breathe Yoga and Wellness Studio in Toronto, Canada. I completed my training under the tutelage of Christine Felstead, author of Yoga for Runners and an experienced yoga instructor, who taught me how to tailor the benefits of yoga to the requirements of runners and other athletes alike. I specialise in leading yoga classes that are specifically designed to improve balance, strengthen core muscle groups and heighten flexibility and mobility. I have also completed courses in Restorative and Slow-Flow Yoga.
A True Believer
I myself am an avid runner and after years of running, combined with endurance horseback riding and figure skating, my body became extremely tight with numerous injuries and limited mobility. In 2017, I completed the Yoga for Runners training course and quickly discovered that all my previous experiences of yoga was merely the tip of the iceberg: I learned that yoga could not only help to mend injuries but strengthen the body, focus the mind and bring balance to your life. With yoga I have been able to recover and regain my athletic lifestyle. I am a true believer in how beneficial yoga can be for athletes of any kind and a great way to balance training routines.
Back to Basics Style Teaching
My aim is to simply focus on the physical practice and breathing techniques. I teach classes that are designed to appeal to those who are new to yoga or unsure about its benefits with regards to their running or other athletic pursuits. I have a passion for teaching classes that focus on functional mobility, strength-building and increased flexibility; all in a welcoming and relaxing environment. Classes will be kept small so we can focus on the issues, requirements and goals of each student.
Classes start 2nd October for 8 weeks
- Tuesday 7-8am Early Bird Flow
- Friday evening 6-7pm Friday Flow
- Saturday 8.30-9.30am Yoga for Runners
- Saturday 4-5pm Yoga for Equestrians (Flow 1 level- suitable for non riders as well)
FriYAY Flow - After a long work week join us Friday evenings for a vinyasa flow class to power you into the weekend refreshed! Flow sequences will move through a mindful series of poses that build strength and stability in the body. Wind down at the end of class with more relaxing poses and take time for yourself as you transition from the work week into the weekend. Suitable for all levels.
Early Bird Flow - Join the Early Bird vinyasa class to start your day off on the right path! Classes will focus each week on strengthening areas of the body that are typically weak and stretching areas that are commonly tight. We will work together of developing more body awareness, improving balance and postural alignment. Classes are the perfect compliment to any regular training regime. Suitable for all levels.
Yoga for Runners - A more vigorous vinyasa flow class will lead you through a flow sequence that focuses on strengthening areas that are typically tight (hamstrings, hips, quads). Sequences will also work on developing stability and strength necessary for those long miles! Class is suitable for all runners.
Yoga for Equestrians - A more vigorous vinyasa flow class that will gently build strength and flexibility through breath and movement. Creative flow sequences with yogic breathing will work on developing a stronger core, upper body and optimal alignment. Class is suitable for all levels. Not a rider?
